Happiness

It's hard to have a concrete definition of happiness.
I think that each individual has a different meaning of what happiness is.
I define happiness as,
The joy you feel in your heart.
The laughter you have among family and friends.
That great feeling of ardor when you're around that special someone.
A sense of true belonging.
Happiness is all these things, and probably more.
But I think there can be one worldwide meaning of happiness that everyone can agree to.
Which is something that can make your heart smile.

Music is universal

Music is universal.
Though there are numerous language barriers from other countries,
You can still have a sense of what the artist is saying.
You can feel or sense if a song is happy, sad, angry, or romantic.
Because, though the words sound different,
The words mean the same thing.
And though you may not understand what the song is saying,
Just know that, for all music,
Music is universal

New

Everything is so new to me.
The touch, sound, taste of everything is an amazing feeling.
Ever since my car accident seven years ago,
I haven't gone outside since.
Today is my first day outside.
I now, am trying, to get over my phobia of the outside world.
The outside world seems like a beautiful, yet dangerous place to me.
And though I want to re-mince in the beauty of nature,
It will take time for me to adjust to my new surroundings.

Life=Laughter

Life=Laughter.
That's what I think.
What's the point of life if you can't enjoy it?
And what's the point of life if you can't laugh?
It's important to laugh,
But it's also important to laugh at yourself.
Don't be so caught up in the moment if you do something embarrassing.
Everyone does something embarrassing sometime in their life.
When that time comes, just laugh along with everyone else.
Because that's life,
Which equals laughter.

Photo

FLASH!
Every time I see a picture,
I try to find a hidden meaning behind it.
Like what could the photographer, or artist have to make the picture?
And the photos that are distorted and blurry, I think, have more of a meaning behind it.
It's fun to see what you can pull out of a picture, and see if it makes sense.
I can see something in this picture,
What can you see?

Beautiful

Beautiful was an understatement to describe him.
Perfect couldn't even match him.
He was un-real, out of this world.
Like a character drawn out from a fantasy book,
Never to be in reality.
And everyday I was with him,
I felt as if today was our last.
And it was.
Now as I look at these roses,
And someone asks me aren't these beautiful
I respond,
What is beautiful?

Childhood

As I pass by the snowy grounds of this parking lot, and look to my left I see the sight of my old park. The sight of this park brings back memories of my childhood to my head. I can hear the laughter of friends, the sight of us playing tag, and how we would climb on top of the monkey bars and watch the sunset. I close my eyes and remanice on these times. I lightly brush up each form of equipment, which triggers a seperate memory for each of them. Brushing the snow off a swing, I slowly start to rock back and forth; in an attempt to swing. As I swing higher and higher, I feel as though I could touch the sky. Times like these make me really miss my childhood.

Winter-frost

As I feel the brisk winter breeze on my skin,
And look outside my window,
to to the soft, white snow;
It reminds me of the warmth.
The warmth of family, friends, and values.
Though winter seems and sounds like a harm season,
It gives me joy knowing that winter is coming.
Which is why I don't say winter-frost,
I say winter-warmth.

Timewarp

I wish I could travel through time.
Undo past mistakes.
Do tasks that I regretted not taking up.
Living in the memories.
Laughing, playing, and enjoying life.
It seems time is going by too fast.
And I cannot comprehend the world around me anymore.
I wish I could just live in the past.
Because that is all I can remember.
It is all I want to remember.

Dreamcathcher

My dreams are vivid,
with dark thoughts,
and haunting pictures.
I cannot keep these images from my dreams.
Though as the day goes on,
I feel as if I am hallucinating.
Now, I feel as if i cannot decipher dreams from reality.
I need help.
I need to get these images away.
I hope that with this dreamcathcer,
It will do its job.

Why?

Why can't we all just get along?
I'm sick of it.
The screaming, yelling, fighting.
With that being the only communication I hear going in this house.
I want to scream on the inside.
But I know it will just contribute to the problems.
I can't be on both sides.
I can't please everyone.
I can't tell whose right and whose wrong.
How come I'm not the one fighting, yet I feel such sorrow?
Why? Why can't we all just get along?

Birthday

Happy Birthday!!
Birthdays, with the famous quote
"Another year older, another year wiser"
But does growing old really make you wiser?
Is it because of all those experiences you experienced within that one year life span?
Well then what if some kid had more experiences than you?
Does that make that kid wiser than someone who is older then them?
So lets really think now,
Does another year older really make you wiser??
Or is it just because of all your experiences you had over that one year life span?

Home Sweet Home

Being the shy girl that I am, I can be a pretty reserved person. As i enter into my first day of high-school as a transfer student, I feel anxious. It is winter outside and the looks i receive from people are as cold as the winter air. I try my best to fit in, but i just can't seem to be friends with these people. They have close cliques at this school, and I am excluded from each one of them. The only thing that gets me through the day is the friendly ardor i get when I come home. Home is where I can escape from my problems and be in tune with myself. I may be alone at school, but I will always have my home. And, for now, that will do.

My mom

Strong willed, benevolent, loyal and respectful. She is my role model, my best friend and my everything. Whenever I am sick, she always takes care of me. Even if she has a bad day, she will try to comfort me if I had a bad day. She cares more about her family than herself. She will stand up and fight if one of us is in a problem we can't get out of. Her main goal is to see her family happy, and does everything she can to achieve that goal. I know i can depend on her for anything, and talk to her about anything. This is why i dedicate this short passage to my wonderful mom.

Alone

As I went through my day, all lonely and depressed
I quietly sat down and sat at my desk.
As the class bell rings, I slump out the room
And hear all the teases, chants and boo's.
I ask the question, "What did I do wrong?"
"I've been myself all along"
As I sit at my lunch table with no on beside me
I wonder if anyone would ever be friends with me.
As i go to open my locker, i find a red card.
Taking it down, I place it gently in my bag
Because now I have something to look at when I'm sad.
